YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The What: As a Team Lead Engineering at Blackwave, you’ll lead the technical development of next-generation composite systems, driving innovation from first concept to flight-ready production. Your leadership will ensure that our advanced composite structures are not only technically outstanding but also reliable and built to perform in the toughest aerospace environments.

Your Mission

Lead the development of our COPVs: Drive projects that push composite and metal materials to their limits from prototype tanks through to their serial production.
Engineer for excellence: Shape the technical roadmap, ensure robust design methods, and make critical decisions that balance performance, manufacturability, and cost.
Command collaboration: Unite and inspire a multidisciplinary team across design, materials, FEM, tooling, and production, ensuring alignment and technical synergy. You will also be coordinating with the product team and our project managers to ensure all projects make over the finish line, on time and to satisfy the pull from the market.
Build the framework: Establish systems and processes that enable transparent development documentation, efficient workflows, and smooth transfer from engineering to production.
Mentor and empower: Develop your team of engineers’ technical capabilities through coaching, feedback, and hands-on problem-solving to ensure continuous growth and innovation.

YOUR PROFILE

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
3-5 years of professional experience in product or process development, ideally in composites, lightweight structures, or aerospace manufacturing
Proven leadership or advanced project management experience in technical environments
Strong knowledge of material behavior, structural mechanics, and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and facilitation skills with a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset
Fluent in English (C1/C2); German is also nice to have for on-site collaboration

DEINE AUFGABEN

The What: Als Team Lead Engineering bei Blackwave übernimmst du die Führung der technischen Entwicklung von Composite-Systemen der nächsten Generation. Du treibst Innovationen vom ersten Konzept bis zur flugbereiten Serienproduktion voran. Mit deiner Führung stellst du sicher, dass unsere hochentwickelten Composite-Strukturen nicht nur technisch exzellent, sondern auch zuverlässig sind und selbst unter härtesten Aerospace-Bedingungen performen.

Unser Ziel ist es, Composite-Druckbehälter und -Strukturen ausfallsicher, effizient und skalierbar für die nächste Generation von Flug- und Raumfahrtsystemen zu entwickeln.

Deine Mission:

Führe die Entwicklung unserer COPVs: Du leitest Projekte, die Composite- und Metallwerkstoffe vom Prototypenbau bis zur Serienproduktion an ihre Leistungsgrenzen bringen.
Engineering Excellence leben: Du gestaltest die technische Roadmap, stellst robuste Auslegungsmethoden sicher und triffst zentrale Entscheidungen im Spannungsfeld von Performance, Herstellbarkeit und Kosten.
Zusammenarbeit orchestrieren: Du führst und inspirierst ein interdisziplinäres Team aus Konstruktion, Werkstofftechnik, FEM, Tooling und Produktion. Außerdem koordinierst du dich eng mit dem Produktteam sowie unseren Projektmanager:innen, um sicherzustellen, dass alle Projekte termingerecht und marktgetrieben erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden.
Strukturen aufbauen: Du etablierst Systeme und Prozesse für transparente Entwicklungsdokumentation, effiziente Workflows und einen reibungslosen Übergang vom Engineering in die Produktion.
Mentorenrolle übernehmen: Du entwickelst die technischen Fähigkeiten deines Engineering-Teams durch Coaching, konstruktives Feedback und praxisnahes Problemlösen kontinuierlich weiter.

DEIN PROFIL

Abgeschlossenes Studium im Maschinenbau, in der Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik oder in einem vergleichbaren technischen Studiengang
3–5 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Produkt- oder Prozessentwicklung, idealerweise im Bereich Composite, Leichtbau oder Aerospace-Fertigung
Nachgewiesene Führungserfahrung oder fortgeschrittene Projektmanagement-Erfahrung in technischen Umfeldern
Sehr gute Kenntnisse im Werkstoffverhalten, in der Strukturmechanik sowie in Fertigungsprozessen
Ausgeprägte Kommunikations- und Moderationsfähigkeiten sowie eine strukturierte, analytische und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise
Verhandlungssicheres Englisch (C1/C2); Deutsch ist von Vorteil für die Zusammenarbeit vor Ort
